The Sun conjunct Venus in Scorpio is an intensely passionate, penetratingly sexual combination, deepening the longing for love on every level, an expression of the almost self immolating drive of the sign for union. A place highlighted in the last eclipse, it is also an incredibly potent position for generating creative juice and expression.
The deep, emotionally subjective qualities of this combination, with all its positive and negative possibilities, however, are given some healthy detachment by the presence of Pallas Athena. In her warrior aspect and her capacity to spearhead the expression of the intelligence of the feminine, she empowers the channelling of such passionate and irresistible creative energy. As a so called virginal goddess, she both focuses the energy while giving us some objectivity in how we chose to express its juicy potency.
In the aspects to the Sun's position, note the concentration of healing power in the connections to Chiron and Hygeia, forming a grand trine in the water signs. This is beautifully fluid movement infusing all healing processes and practices, with particular emphasis on sexual healing. It also aids the recovery of deeper sensitivity and its positive effects on our capacity for intimacy with self and others, and on our ability to trust the inherent healing intelligence within our own bodies.
Also note the connections with deep layers of primal power with Mars, Pluto and Medusa. The Sun sextiling the Martian and martial warrior Mars in earthy Capricorn is a brilliant aspect for getting very focused and effective in our actions, for getting things done and for the physical manifestation of goals, desires and creative possibilities.
And this will deepen and strengthen as Mars gets closer to Pluto lining up perfectly on the 11th.
A Mars/Pluto conjunction is one of the most powerful combinations in traditional astrology, as the personal drive and desire of the individual draw from the deep well of the lower chakra realms of this Lord of Death, Transformation and Rebirth (or of Kali and Shiva if you like). Our ability to handle and direct this kind of potency is very dependent on our level of consciousness of our own shadows and on how much work we've been able to do with unhealed forms of anger and rage.
Worked well, it can make us hyper-effective and with a seemingly endless supply of almost god-like energy. But it can also make us ruthless, autocratic and driven by unconscious compulsions that are very hard to deny. So we need to be conscious and cautious about how we use the energy.
Fortunately, there are also good aspects to Chiron and Neptune linking this power potential to deeply healing and sensitive parts of self. This can make us even more effective because of the intuitive accuracy of our choice of targets or goals.
As for the healing of anger and rage, this is one of those critical points as, on the 13th, Mars also squares the explosive Uranus in Aries, while still very close to Pluto.
Mars/Uranus squares have a reputation for arguments, accidents, violent outbursts, and sudden needs for radical freedom. The same can be used very effectively though for liberating stagnant energy within and on blocks to our personal and creative freedom of expression.
So if your anger levels are peaking and your stress levels are building as we go towards the 10-13th, you would do well to get to some primal or breathwork or use the Osho meditations, Kundalini, Chakra Breathe or Dynamic, in order to release the pressure before reaching critical mass. It is not energy to sit on physically!
The eclipses of last month very powerfully activated the South and the North Nodes of the Moon, those mysterious points reflecting the unfolding realisation of our soul purpose and direction at this time. This emphasis continues as both Mercury and Lilith are both on the North Node in Libra at the start of this month. This supports greater conscious awareness of our own personal soul direction with that of our relationships.
With Lilith in particular, this vision is of relationships based on mutual respect, empowerment and equality. She is a great sacred feminine warrior who is committed to the creation of relationships based on such equality while retaining a healthy passionate individuality.
This position is given great support, as are both of the Nodes, by the benevolent energies of Jupiter in Leo, sextiling the North Node/Mercury/Lilith conjunction while trining the South Node and Uranus. This is a healthy boost to some of the continuing steams of energy initiated by the recent eclipses.
Jupiter is also close to the Black Moon, while squaring Saturn in Scorpio, a welcome addition of more obvious grace to the Black Moon/Saturn square that has contributed to some of the darker passages many of us have had to travel through in these last months.
It's good to know that help is on its way!
